The River Ridge Wildcats basketball squad (Hanover, IL), was crushed 80-52 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL)

With the victory, Newman Central Catholic advances its record to 12-10 on the year. The Comets travel to Morrison (Morrison, IL) to meet the Mustangs in a non-league battle on Wednesday, January 22. The Mustangs enter the battle with a record of 6-14.

The Wildcats now sport a 8-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Carroll for a Northwest Upstate Illini - West test on Tuesday, January 21.
