January 18, 2025: Kewanee, IL 61443 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Wethersfield Flying Geese (Kewanee, IL) and the visiting Sherrard Tigers (Sherrard, IL), observed Wethersfield's basketball team edge Sherrard by a margin of 52-49.
The Flying Geese (15-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Knoxville (Knoxville, IL). The Blue Bullets come into the Lincoln Trail challenge with a 8-9 record. In their last challenge, Knoxville edged Bureau Valley (Manlius, IL), 54-38, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Tigers battle the Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 20. Sherrard will attempt to better on its 14-3 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 15-5 record after their 74-48 non-league win over Lewistown (Lewistown, IL).
