The St. John Paul II Catholic Lions basketball team (Avondale, AZ), was overwhelmed 68-24 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Highland Prep Honey Badgers (Surprise, AZ)

The Honey Badgers now possess a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Arizona Lutheran Academy for a non-league battle on Thursday, January 20. Highland Prep will confront a Coyotes team coming off a 78-21 league win over River Valley (Mohave Valley, AZ). The Coyotes record now stands at 14-3.

The Lions (5-11) will now prepare for their battle against Trivium Prep (Goodyear, AZ). The Crimson Knights come into the 2A West battle with a 10-7 record. In their last battle, Trivium Prep trounced Heritage Academy (Laveen, AZ), 73-27, in a league battle.
