The Barrington Eagles basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting East Greenwich Avengers to 45 in the Eagles league triumph on Wednesday.

The Eagles now sport a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Classical for a State Championship A contest on Friday, January 21. Barrington will battle a Purples team coming off a 65-51 league loss to Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI). The Purples record now stands at 2-6.

The Avengers (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI). The Rebels enter the non-league contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, South Kingstown triumphed over St. Raphael Academy (Pawtucket, RI), 64-39, in a league contest.
