January 19, 2023: Kentwood, LA 70444 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Sumner Cowboys (Kentwood, LA) and the visiting Pine Raiders (Franklinton, LA), saw Sumner's basketball squad overcome Pine by a tally of 77-63.
With the victory, Sumner improves its record to 6-11 on the campaign. The Cowboys host Amite (Amite, LA) to confront the Warriors in a 3A District 7 challenge on Friday, February 3. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 5-9.
Next up, the Raiders confront the Denham Springs Yellowjackets (Denham Springs, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 20. Pine will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 16-4 record after their 63-59 non-league win over Broadmoor (Baton Rouge, LA).
