New York High School Basketball - Maryvale holds off Alden
January 19, 2023: Cheektowaga, NY 14225 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Maryvale Flyers (Cheektowaga, NY) and the visiting Alden Bulldogs (Alden, NY), saw Maryvale's basketball squad hold off Alden by a tally of 27-21.
With the victory, Maryvale improves its record to 4-7 on the campaign. The Flyers host Lackawanna (Lackawanna, NY) to confront the Steelers in a Section 6 Erie County III challenge on Monday, January 23. The Steelers come into the challenge with a record of 4-6. Lackawanna lost 64-19 in their recent league challenge against East Aurora (East Aurora, NY)
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Eden Raiders (Eden, NY) in a Section 6 Erie County IV challenge, on Monday, January 23. Alden will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 8-3 record after their 57-50 non-league loss to Sacred Heart Academy (Buffalo, NY).
