Illinois High School Basketball - Jersey nips Jacksonville
January 19, 2023: Jacksonville, IL 62650 Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Jacksonville Crimsons (Jacksonville, IL), 59-55 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Jersey upgrades its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Panthers host Highland (Highland, IL) to play the Bulldogs in a Mississippi Valley bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 18-7.
Next up, the Crimsons play the Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) in a Central State Eight bout, on Saturday, January 21. Jacksonville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-18 season record. The Pioneers come into the bout with a 7-16 record after their 36-28 league loss to Rochester (Rochester, IL).
