January 19, 2023: Laredo, TX 78043 The Nixon Mustangs smashed the visiting Zapata Hawks soccer squad by a margin of 5-0 in Thursday's non-league match.
The Mustangs now sport a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Rio Grande City for a 5A Region 4 District 30 match on Tuesday, January 24. Nixon will encounter a Rattlers squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Harlingen (Harlingen, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 1-3.
With the loss, Zapata drops to 2-6 on the season. The Hawks travel to Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX) to encounter the Cougars in a non-league match on Friday, January 20.
