The St. Charles Catholic Comets (LaPlace, LA) basketball nipped the host Ascension Christian (Gonzales, LA), 50-45 in Friday's non-league test.

The Comets (13-3) will now prepare for their test against Bonnabel (Kenner, LA). The Bruins go into the non-league test with a 15-8 record. In their last test, Bonnabel was tipped by Landry (New Orleans, LA), 62-50, in a non-league test.
