The Independence Tigers basketball team (Independence, LA), was overwhelmed 86-34 in Friday's league battle with the visiting French Settlement Lions (French Settlement, LA)

The Lions now possess a 23-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Helena College and Career Academy for a 2A District 7 battle on Tuesday, January 23. French Settlement will confront a Hawks team coming off a 74-66 non-league loss to Collins (Collins, MS). The Hawks record now stands at 6-10.

The Tigers (4-10) will now prepare for their battle against Northlake Christian (Covington, LA). The Wolverines come into the 2A District 7 battle with a 8-14 record. In their last battle, Northlake Christian was overwhelmed by St. Helena College and Career Academy (Greensburg, LA), 69-55, in a league battle.
