The Valley Lutheran Chargers basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Tawas Area Braves to 31 in the Chargers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Chargers now sport a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Beaverton for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 23. Valley Lutheran will meet a Beavers team coming off a 33-30 league loss to Clare (Clare, MI). The Beavers record now stands at 5-8.

The Braves (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against Standish-Sterling (Standish, MI). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Standish-Sterling triumphed over Hemlock (Hemlock, MI), 56-51, in a non-league contest.
