The Newtown Nighthawks basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Bunnell Bulldogs to 23 in the Nighthawks league triumph on Friday.

The Nighthawks now sport a 12-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to New Milford for a Southwest - Patriot contest on Tuesday, January 23. Newtown will meet a Green Wave team coming off a 67-34 league win over Stratford (Stratford, CT). The Green Wave record now stands at 8-4.

The Bulldogs (0-10) will now prepare for their contest against Immaculate (Danbury, CT). The Mustangs enter the Southwest - Patriot contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Immaculate was routed by Ludlowe (Fairfield, CT), 55-51, in a non-league contest.
