In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Chopticon Braves basketball team scored a decisive 57-36 triumph over the Howard Lions.

In their next game, the Braves meet the Huntingtown Hurricanes (Huntingtown, MD) in a Southern Maryland match, on Friday, January 5. Chopticon will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Hurricanes enter the match with a 4-4 record after their 69-67 non-league win over Bladensburg (Bladensburg, MD).
