Mississippi High School Basketball - Pine Grove holds off Houlka
January 2, 2024: Ripley, MS 38663 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS) and the visiting Houlka Wildcats (Houlka, MS), saw Pine Grove's basketball squad hold off Houlka by a tally of 47-42.
With the victory, Pine Grove improves its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Panthers host Myrtle (Myrtle, MS) to confront the Hawks in a 1A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 2-17.
Next up, the Wildcats confront the Okolona Chieftains (Okolona, MS) in a 1A Region 4 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Houlka will attempt to improve on its 8-9 season record. The Chieftains come into the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 64-59 non-league win over Calhoun City (Calhoun City, MS).
