January 2, 2024: Whiting, IA 51063 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Alta-Aurelia Warriors (Alta, IA) and the host Whiting Warriors (Whiting, IA), saw Alta-Aurelia's basketball squad wallop Whiting by a count of 67-16.
With the victory, Alta-Aurelia upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Warriors host Southeast Valley (Gowrie, IA) to play the Jaguars in a Twin Lakes challenge on Friday, January 5. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 7-3. Southeast Valley won 40-36 in their recent non-league challenge against South Hamilton (Jewell, IA)
Next up, the Warriors play the Storm Lake St. Mary Panthers (Storm Lake, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 4. Whiting will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 78-13 non-league loss to West Monona (Onawa, IA).
