Texas High School Basketball - Blackwell overwhelms Brookesmith
January 2, 2024: Blackwell, TX 79506 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Blackwell Hornets (Blackwell, TX) and the visiting Brookesmith Mustangs (Brookesmith, TX), saw Blackwell's basketball squad wallop Brookesmith by a count of 51-16.
With the victory, Blackwell upgrades its record to 19-4 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Irion County (Mertzon, TX) to play the Hornets in a 1A Region II District 11 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 5-6. Irion County won 38-25 in their recent non-league challenge against Brady (Brady, TX)
Next up, the Mustangs play the Cherokee Indians (Cherokee, TX) in a 1A Region III District 17 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Brookesmith will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record.
