The Wellington Skyrockets basketball team scored 42 points and held the visiting Canadian Wildcats to 33 in the Skyrockets non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Skyrockets now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Shamrock for a 2A Region I District 2 contest on Friday, January 5. Wellington will battle a Irish team coming off a 57-18 non-league win over Hedley (Hedley, TX). The Irish record now stands at 5-9.

The Wildcats (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against River Road (Amarillo, TX). The Wildcats enter the 3A Region I District 1 contest with a 5-17 record. In their last contest, River Road was defeated by San Jacinto Christian Academy (Amarillo, TX), 75-41, in a non-league contest.
