The Flyers now possess a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Martins Mill for a 2A Region III District 19 battle on Friday, January 5. LaPoynor will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 66-40 non-league win over Pineywoods Community Academy (Lufkin, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 19-4.
The Bulldogs (13-10) will now prepare for their battle against Spring Hill (Longview, TX). The Panthers come into the 4A Region III District 17 battle with a 11-12 record. In their last battle, Spring Hill was toppled by Center (Center, TX), 49-26, in a league battle.
