January 2, 2024: Brandon, MS 39232 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) and the visiting Forest Hill Patriots (Jackson, MS), saw Northwest Rankin's basketball squad overcome Forest Hill by a tally of 66-50.
With the victory, Northwest Rankin improves its record to 9-9 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Lanier (Jackson, MS) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 9-3. Lanier won 27-17 in their recent non-league challenge against Brookhaven (Brookhaven, MS)
Next up, the Patriots play the Pearl River Central Blue Devils (Carriere, MS) in a 6A Region 3 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Forest Hill will attempt to improve on its 6-11 season record. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 49-38 non-league loss to Poplarville (Poplarville, MS).
