Texas High School Soccer - Weslaco East nudged by King
January 2, 2025: Corpus Christi, TX 78412 King Mustangs (Corpus Christi, TX) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the visiting Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX), 1-0 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, King advances its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Gregory-Portland (Portland, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a 5A Region 4 District 29 test on Tuesday, January 7. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 2-2. Gregory-Portland lost 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Rouse (Leander, TX)
The Wildcats now have a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo for a non-league test on Thursday, January 2. Weslaco East will clash with a Bears team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX). The Bears record now stands at 2-0.
