Pennsylvania High School Basketball - South Fayette holds off Avonworth
January 20, 2023: Pittsburgh, PA 15237 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA) and the host Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA), saw South Fayette's basketball squad hold off Avonworth by a tally of 47-44.
With the victory, South Fayette improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Lions host Thomas Jefferson (Jefferson Hills, PA) to confront the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 8-5. Thomas Jefferson won 68-59 in their recent non-league challenge against West Mifflin (West Mifflin, PA)
Next up, the Antelopes confront the Aliquippa Quips (Aliquippa, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 21. Avonworth will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record. The Quips come into the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 60-45 league win over Shenango (New Castle, PA).
