The Palmetto Tigers basketball team scored 66 points and held the host IMG Academy Silver Ascenders to 56 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Tigers now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Manatee for a 6A District 10 contest on Saturday, January 21. Palmetto will meet a Hurricanes team coming off a 59-52 non-league win over Shorecrest Prep (St. Petersburg, FL). The Hurricanes record now stands at 8-9.

The Ascenders (7-6) will now prepare for their contest against 212 Sports Academy (Sarasota, FL). The The Steam enter the non-league contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, 212 Sports Academy ran past Braden River (Bradenton, FL), 53-48, in a non-league contest.
