The Mountain View Mountain Lions basketball team (Tucson, AZ), was overwhelmed 57-35 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ)

The Firebirds now possess a 9-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cactus Shadows for a 5A Northeast Valley battle on Monday, January 23. Chaparral will confront a Falcons team coming off a 56-21 league win over Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, AZ). The Falcons record now stands at 11-10.

The Mountain Lions (3-14) will now prepare for their battle against Cholla (Tucson, AZ). The Chargers come into the 5A Southern battle with a 3-10 record. In their last battle, Cholla was overwhelmed by Nogales (Nogales, AZ), 58-19, in a non-league battle.
