Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Western Wayne holds off Jim Thorpe
January 20, 2023: Jim Thorpe, PA 18229 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Western Wayne Wildcats (Lake Ariel, PA) and the host Jim Thorpe Olympians (Jim Thorpe, PA), saw Western Wayne's basketball squad hold off Jim Thorpe by a tally of 45-43.
With the victory, Western Wayne improves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Valley View (Archbald, PA) to confront the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 4-3. Valley View lost 45-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Honesdale (Honesdale, PA)
Next up, the Olympians confront the Pottsville Crimson Tide (Pottsville, PA) in a Schuylkill County 1 challenge, on Monday, January 23. Jim Thorpe will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Crimson Tide come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 49-41 non-league win over Exeter Township (Reading, PA).
