Illinois High School Basketball - Mendota thwarts Amboy
January 20, 2024: Amboy, IL 61310 The Mendota Trojans (Mendota, IL) basketball knocked off the host Amboy Clippers (Amboy, IL), 63-47 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Trojans (9-11) will now prepare for their test against Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL). The Comets go into the Three Rivers - East test with a 13-9 record. In their last test, Newman Central Catholic notched a victory over Stockton (Stockton, IL), 60-36, in a non-league test.
The Clippers now own a 3-14 record. They play next when they host Oregon for a non-league test on Monday, January 22. Amboy will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 66-44 non-league win over Forreston (Forreston, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 11-11.
