January 20, 2024: Chanute, KS 66720 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Piper Pirates (Kansas City, KS) and the host Chanute Blue Comets (Chanute, KS), saw Piper's basketball squad hold off Chanute by a count of 63-59.
With the victory, Piper upgrades its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Leavenworth (Leavenworth, KS) to play the PIONEERS in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The PIONEERS come into the challenge with a record of 0-6. Leavenworth lost 80-60 in their recent non-league challenge against De Soto (De Soto, KS)
Next up, the Blue Comets play the Paola Panthers (Paola, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Chanute will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 0-11 record after their 56-42 non-league loss to Labette County (Altamont, KS).
