January 20, 2024: Collins, MS 39428 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Collins Tigers (Collins, MS) and the visiting St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks (Greensburg, LA), saw Collins's basketball squad overcome St. Helena College and Career Academy by a tally of 74-66.
With the victory, Collins improves its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Richton (Richton, MS) to confront the Rebels in a 2A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Rebels come into the challenge with a record of 16-7. Richton won 44-29 in their recent league challenge against Heidelberg (Heidelberg, MS)
Next up, the Hawks confront the French Settlement Lions (French Settlement, LA) in a 2A District 7 challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. St. Helena College and Career Academy will attempt to improve on its 6-10 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 23-3 record after their 86-34 league win over Independence (Independence, LA).
