January 20, 2024: Hannibal, MO 63401 In Saturday's non-league outing, the Hannibal Pirates (Hannibal, MO) basketball squad edged the visiting Highland Cougars (Ewing, MO), by a count of 43-42.
The Pirates (6-9) will now prepare for their outing against Kirksville (Kirksville, MO). The Tigers go into the North Central Missouri outing with a 7-3 record. In their last outing, Kirksville held off Moberly (Moberly, MO), 61-50, in a league outing.
The Cougars now hold a 4-10 record. They play next when they travel to Monroe City for a Clarence Cannon outing on Tuesday, January 23. Highland will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 68-66 non-league loss to Van-Far (Vandalia, MO). The Panthers record now stands at 9-6.
