In Monday's non-league contest, the host Tri-County Academy Rebels basketball team scored a close 55-52 triumph over the Hillcrest Christian Cougars.

The Rebels (6-2) will now prepare for their contest against Clinton Christian Academy (Clinton, MS). The Warriors go into the MAIS 4A District 4 contest with a 8-7 record. In their last contest, Clinton Christian Academy nipped Central Hinds Academy (Raymond, MS), 54-53, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars confront the Franklin Academy Cougars (Winnsboro, LA) in a MAIS 3A District 4 contest, on Friday, January 24. Hillcrest Christian will attempt to better on its 10-9 season record.
