Mississippi High School Basketball - Sumrall thwarts North Forrest
January 20, 2025: Sumrall, MS 39482 The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS) and the visiting North Forrest Eagles (Hattiesburg, MS), observed Sumrall's basketball team knock off North Forrest by a score of 52-33.
The Bobcats (8-17) will now prepare for their challenge against Lawrence County (Monticello, MS). The Cougars come into the 4A Region 7 challenge with a 14-7 record. In their last challenge, Lawrence County was knocked off by Brandon (Brandon, MS), 55-36, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Richton Rebels (Richton, MS) in a 2A Region 8 challenge, on Thursday, January 23. North Forrest will attempt to improve on its 3-12 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 18-7 record after their 54-49 league win over Heidelberg (Heidelberg, MS).
