Florida High School Basketball - Cannon toppled by Montverde Academy

Montverde Academy Eagles (Montverde, FL) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC), 65-45 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Montverde Academy upgrades its record to 16-1 on the year. The Eagles travel to Legion Preparatory Academy (Dallas, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Friday, January 24. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 19-6. Legion Preparatory Academy won 61-60 in their recent non-league match against Kinkaid (Houston, TX)

The Cougars now sport a 17-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Charlotte Christian for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent match on Tuesday, January 21. Cannon will face a Knights squad coming off a 50-26 non-league loss to Ben Lippen (Columbia, SC). The Knights record now stands at 2-13.
