The Liberty Eagles (Liberty, IL) basketball were winner over the visiting Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL), 61-48 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Eagles now possess a 11-9 record. They play next when they travel to Mendon Unity for a West Central - South bout on Wednesday, January 22. Liberty will play a Mustangs team coming off a 56-23 non-league loss to Macomb (Macomb, IL). The Mustangs record now stands at 12-14.

With the loss, Mercer County falls to 11-13 on the campaign. The Golden eagles travel to Monmouth-Roseville (Monmouth, IL) to play the Titans in a Three Rivers - West bout on Thursday, January 23.
