The Newport Wildcats basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Aiken Falcons to 48 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Wildcats now sport a 16-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Conner for a non-league contest on Monday, January 23. Newport will meet a Cougars team coming off a 64-49 league win over Ryle (Union, KY). The Cougars record now stands at 12-6.

The Falcons (4-11) will now prepare for their contest against DePaul Cristo Rey (Cincinnati, OH). The enter the non-league contest with a 8-8 record.
