Georgia High School Basketball - Monroe Area fells Morgan County
January 21, 2023: Monroe, GA 30656 Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Morgan County Bulldogs (Madison, GA), 71-51 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Monroe Area upgrades its record to 16-3 on the season. The Purple Hurricanes host Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA) to play the Warriors in a AAA Region 8 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 13-6. Oconee County lost 68-55 in their recent league bout against Hart County (Hartwell, GA)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers (Augusta, GA) in a AAA Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Morgan County will attempt to upgrade on its 8-12 season record. The Musketeers go into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 55-53 non-league loss to Laney (Augusta, GA).
