North Carolina High School Basketball - Northwood tops New Hanover

Northwood Chargers (Pittsboro, NC) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC), 58-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Northwood upgrades its record to 16-2 on the campaign. The Chargers host Cedar Ridge (Hillsborough, NC) to play the Fighting Red Wolves in a 3A Conference 25 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Fighting Red Wolves come into the bout with a record of 5-10. Cedar Ridge lost 56-49 in their recent league bout against Person (Roxboro, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 20 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. New Hanover will attempt to upgrade on its 13-2 season record. The Screaming Eagle come into the bout with a 6-9 record after their 49-44 league loss to Laney (Wilmington, NC).
