Illinois High School Basketball - Effingham topped by Mascoutah
January 21, 2023: Mascoutah, IL 62258 The Mascoutah Indians basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting Effingham Flaming Hearts to 39 in the Indians non-league victory on Saturday.
The Indians now sport a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Belleville East for a non-league contest on Monday, January 23. Mascoutah will battle a Lancers team coming off a 45-36 non-league loss to Collinsville (Collinsville, IL). The Lancers record now stands at 4-11.
The Flaming Hearts (16-7) will now prepare for their contest against Mattoon (Mattoon, IL). The Greenwave come into the Apollo contest with a 11-12 record. In their last contest, Mattoon was defeated by St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL), 52-49, in a non-league contest.
