Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Merritt Island Christian Cougars (Merritt Island, FL) and the host Patel Trailblazers (Tampa, FL), witnessed Merritt Island Christian's basketball squad nip Patel by a margin of 49-45.

The Cougars (16-5) will now prepare for their outing against Bayside (Palm Bay, FL). The Bears go into the non-league outing with a 10-11 record. In their last outing, Bayside got by Cocoa Beach (Cocoa Beach, FL), 62-36, in a non-league outing.

The Trailblazers now own a 11-11 record. They play next when they travel to Saint Stephen's Episcopal for a 2A District 11 outing on Thursday, January 26.
