Illinois High School Basketball - Newton ripped by Vincennes Rivet
January 21, 2023: Newton, IL 62448 The Vincennes Rivet Patriots basketball team scored 48 points and held the host Newton Eagles to 24 in the Patriots non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Patriots now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northeast Dubois for a Blue Chip contest on Thursday, January 26. Vincennes Rivet will battle a Jeeps team coming off a 53-42 non-league win over Perry Central (Leopold, IN). The Jeeps record now stands at 16-4.
The Eagles (10-13) will now prepare for their contest against Marshall (Marshall, IL). The Lions enter the Little Illini contest with a 13-11 record. In their last contest, Marshall triumphed over Newton (Newton, IL), 51-44, in a non-league contest.
