January 21, 2023: Keller, TX 76248 Lufkin Panthers (Lufkin, TX) supporters were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Fossil Ridge Panthers (Keller, TX), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Panthers confront the Huntsville Hornets (Huntsville, TX) in a 5A Region 2 District 16 challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Lufkin will attempt to move on its 5-4 season record. The Hornets enter the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 6-0 non-league loss to Angleton (Angleton, TX).
The Panthers now possess a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Byron Nelson for a 6A Region 1 District 4 challenge on Tuesday, January 24. Fossil Ridge will confront a Bobcat team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Flower Mound (Flower Mound, TX). The Bobcat record now stands at 5-2.
