Alabama High School Basketball - New Hope knocks off Columbia
January 21, 2025: New Hope, AL 35760 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the New Hope Indians (New Hope, AL) and the visiting Columbia Eagles (Huntsville, AL), observed New Hope's basketball team overcome Columbia by a score of 72-58.
The Indians (20-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Plainview (Rainsville, AL). The Bears come into the 4A Area 16 challenge with a 22-4 record. In their last challenge, Plainview defeated Madison County (Gurley, AL), 79-41, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Eagles battle the Mae Jemison Jaguars (Huntsville, AL) in a 6A Area 16 challenge, on Friday, January 24. Columbia will attempt to improve on its 4-19 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 14-10 record after their 63-60 league loss to Buckhorn (New Market, AL).
