Connecticut High School Basketball - Kolbe-Cathedral can't hold off Newtown
January 21, 2025: Newtown, CT 06482 Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars (Bridgeport, CT), 57-54 in a league match.
With the victory, Newtown advances its record to 3-5 on the year. The Nighthawks travel to Immaculate (Danbury, CT) to face the Mustangs in a Southwest match on Thursday, January 23. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 1-3. Immaculate lost 59-41 in their recent league match against Pomperaug (Southbury, CT)
The Cougars now own a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Joel Barlow for a Southwest match on Thursday, January 23. Kolbe-Cathedral will face a Falcons squad coming off a 67-56 league loss to New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT). The Falcons record now stands at 2-9.
