Illinois High School Basketball - Richwoods thwarts Pekin
January 21, 2025: Pekin, IL 61554 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Richwoods Knights (Peoria, IL) and the host Pekin Dragons (Pekin, IL), observed Richwoods's basketball team knock off Pekin by a score of 61-53.
The Knights (12-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Danville (Danville, IL). The Vikings come into the Big Twelve challenge with a 6-11 record. In their last challenge, Danville was knocked off by Peoria Notre Dame (Peoria, IL), 56-48, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Dragons encounter the Dunlap Eagles (Dunlap, IL) in a Mid-Illini challenge, on Saturday, January 25. Pekin will attempt to improve on its 8-10 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 66-61 non-league win over Galesburg (Galesburg, IL).
