January 21, 2025: Reading, MA 01867 Wakefield Memorial Warriors (Wakefield, MA) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Reading Memorial Rockets (Reading, MA), 61-58 in a league match.
With the victory, Wakefield Memorial advances its record to 5-5 on the year. The Warriors host Lexington (Lexington, MA) to face the Minutemen in a Middlesex match on Friday, January 24. The Minutemen enter the match with a record of 6-1. Lexington won 70-56 in their recent non-league match against Concord-Carlisle (Concord, MA)
The Rockets now own a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lynnfield for a non-league match on Wednesday, January 22. Reading Memorial will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 54-44 non-league win over Amesbury (Amesbury, MA). The Pioneers record now stands at 7-2.
