Walker Valley Mustangs (Cleveland, TN) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Red Bank Lions (Chattanooga, TN), 72-67 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Walker Valley advances its record to 18-2 on the year. The Mustangs host McMinn County (Athens, TN) to meet the Cherokees in a 4A District 5 match on Friday, January 24. The Cherokees enter the match with a record of 10-8.

The Lions now own a 15-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Signal Mountain for a 3A District 6 match on Friday, January 24. Red Bank will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 71-51 non-league win over Sand Rock (Leesburg, AL). The Eagles record now stands at 11-9.
