Virginia High School Basketball - Salem defeats Amherst County
January 21, 2025: Amherst, VA 24521 The Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) basketball were winner over the host Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA), 47-39 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Spartans now possess a 10-2 record. They play next when they host Cave Spring for a non-league bout on Friday, January 24. Salem will play a Knights team coming off a 48-34 non-league win over Pulaski County (Dublin, VA). The Knights record now stands at 9-2.
With the loss, Amherst County falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Altavista (Altavista, VA) to play the Colonels in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 23. The Colonels go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Altavista won 48-39 in their recent non-league bout against Nelson County (Lovingston, VA)
