Walden Grove Red Wolves (Sahuarita, AZ) fans went home happy Wednesday as they saw their soccer squad hold off the visiting Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks (Tucson, AZ), 2-1 in a league outing.

The Red Wolves (5-2) will now prepare for their outing against Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, AZ). The Lancers enter the 4A Kino outing with a 10-3 record. In their last outing, Salpointe Catholic edged Brophy College Prep (Phoenix, AZ), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Nighthawks now sport a 11-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sahuaro for a 4A Kino test on Monday, January 26. Ironwood Ridge will clash with a Cougars team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Canyon del Oro (Tucson, AZ). The Cougars record now stands at 0-10.
