The Freeman Academy/Marion basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Avon Pirates to 23 in the non-league triumph on Saturday.

The now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bridgewater/Emery for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 25. Freeman Academy/Marion will meet a Huskies team coming off a 58-52 non-league loss to Lyman (Presho, SD). The Huskies record now stands at 6-6.

The Pirates (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against Marty Indian (Marty, SD). The Braves enter the B Region 6 contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Marty Indian triumphed over Crazy Horse (Wanblee, SD), 56-54, in a non-league contest.
