January 22, 2024: Sidney, IA 51652 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Red Oak Tigers (Red Oak, IA) and the host Sidney Cowboys (Sidney, IA), saw Red Oak's basketball squad hold off Sidney by a count of 51-49.
With the victory, Red Oak upgrades its record to 4-10 on the campaign. The Tigers host St. Albert (Council Bluffs, IA) to play the Falcons in a Hawkeye Ten challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 11-1. St. Albert won 72-19 in their recent non-league challenge against Jefferson (Council Bluffs, IA)
Next up, the Cowboys play the Griswold Tigers (Griswold, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Sidney will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 5-11 record after their 55-19 non-league loss to East Mills (Malvern, IA).
