Panther Valley Panthers (Lansford, PA) supporters went home pleased Wednesday as they observed their basketball team overwhelm the host Jim Thorpe Olympians (Jim Thorpe, PA), 50-28 in a league challenge.

The Panthers (7-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Blue Mountain (Schuylkill Haven, PA). The Eagles come into the Schuylkill County 1 challenge with a 2-7 record. In their last challenge, Blue Mountain was routed by Tamaqua (Tamaqua, PA), 35-23, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Olympians encounter the Palmerton Blue Bombers (Palmerton, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 24. Jim Thorpe will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record.
