Illinois High School Basketball - Calvary nips Litchfield
January 23, 2024: Litchfield, IL 62056 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Calvary Saints (Springfield, IL) and the host Litchfield Purple Panthers (Litchfield, IL), saw Calvary's basketball squad hold off Litchfield by a tally of 58-55.
With the victory, Calvary improves its record to 16-6 on the campaign. The Saints host Lutheran (Springfield, IL) to play the Crusaders in a MSM challenge on Friday, January 26. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 8-12. Lutheran lost 55-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Carlinville (Carlinville, IL)
Next up, the Purple Panthers play the Carlinville Cavaliers (Carlinville, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Thursday, January 25. Litchfield will attempt to improve on its 15-10 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 10-12 record after their 55-51 non-league win over Lutheran (Springfield, IL).
